Our Mission

At Favoured Hospice, LLC we believe that every moment matters, especially at the end of life. Our mission is to provide compassionate, dignified, and holistic care to patients and their families during life’s most tender transitions. We value empathy, respect, and human connection, and we know that volunteers and community relationships are at the heart of delivering that care.

The Impact You'll Make

As our Hospice Liaison & Volunteer Assistance Coordinator, you will be the bridge between our hospice team, volunteers, patients, and their families. You’ll ensure that every volunteer is supported, every family feels heard, and every patient receives the comfort and companionship they deserve. Your work will directly shape the quality of care we provide, turning moments of uncertainty into moments of peace.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the secondary point of contact for volunteers, ensuring they are trained, supported, and matched with meaningful assignments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, faith groups, and local partners to recruit and engage volunteers.
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules to meet patient and family needs, ensuring timely and compassionate support.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing education for volunteers on hospice philosophy, patient care, and emotional support techniques.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to identify opportunities where volunteers can enhance patient comfort and family well-being.
  • Assist with bereavement support programs, memorial services, and community outreach events.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records, compliance documentation, and activity reports.

What You'll Bring

  • A deep sense of empathy, patience, and respect for individuals facing end-of-life care.
  • Experience in volunteer coordination, community outreach, or patient support roles (hospice or healthcare experience preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple schedules, priorities, and sensitive situations.
  • Comfort with basic technology for scheduling, record-keeping, and communication.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest ethical standards.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • A mission-driven environment where your work truly changes lives.
  • Comprehensive training in hospice philosophy and volunteer management.
  • Flexible scheduling options to support work-life balance.
  • Opportunities to attend community events, remembrance ceremonies, and educational workshops.
  • A supportive, compassionate team that values collaboration and personal growth.

We are an equal opportunity organization and welcome volunteers and staff from all walks of life. Diversity strengthens our care.

Requirements:
  • Education: HS. Diploma, public administration, healthcare, or related field; associate degree + experience considered
  • Experience: 1–3+ years in healthcare, community engagement, or volunteer management; customer service experience valued.
  • Certifications: Not always required, but relevant training (e.g., CPR, volunteer management) can be beneficial.
  • Soft skills: Empathy, active listening, problem-solving, and cultural sensitivity.
