Job Description
Experienced Family Law Paralegal Martino Law Group — Melrose, MA (satellite office in Newburyport)
Are you the paralegal who never lets a deadline slip?
If you thrive running a busy family law caseload, treat every deadline as your own, and take pride in turning out court-ready work the first time, we want to talk to you.
Martino Law Group is a growing Massachusetts family law and estate planning firm. We're based in Melrose, with a satellite office in Newburyport and a third office opening soon in Lexington. We're hiring an experienced family law paralegal to be the right hand of our family law attorneys — someone who can independently manage discovery, court filings, financial statements, and client communication across a full slate of divorce, custody, modification, and contempt matters.
Compensation:$65,000 - $80,000+ yearly
Responsibilities:
What you'll do
- Manage discovery from start to finish: drafting, propounding, tracking, and organizing responses
- Prepare and file court documents, and keep every filing deadline on the calendar
- Draft and assemble Rule 401 financial statements (CJD 301/301S) and supporting exhibits
- Serve as a steady point of contact for clients, keeping them informed and prepared
- Keep matters moving — anticipating next steps before the attorney has to ask
What we're looking for
- Hands-on family law experience in the Massachusetts Probate & Family Court
- Command of court procedure, filing requirements, and financial statements
- Sharp attention to detail and genuine ownership of deadlines
- Clear, professional communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- The judgment to run a caseload independently
Qualifications:
What You'll Bring
- 5–8 years of hands-on family law paralegal experience in a Massachusetts firm
- Demonstrated proficiency with Clio Manage (required), you can set up matters, run reports, and keep a docket clean without supervision
- Demonstrated experience e-filing in MA Probate & Family Court (required)
- Working command of the MA Domestic Relations Procedure, Supplemental Probate & Family Court Rules, and the Child Support Guidelines
- Strong drafting skills: You can produce a clean motion or discovery response without a template handed to you
- Knowledge and comfort working with AI (Claude, Cowork, Chat GPT, Notebook LM, and Gemini)
- Excellent written and verbal communication; warm and professional with clients under stress
- Highly organized, calendar-driven, and comfortable juggling 40+ active matters
- Microsoft Word, Outlook, OneDrive/SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat fluency
- Notary commission a plus (or willingness to obtain)
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience
