Summary

The Sales Counselor is responsible for sales and closing activity that meets or exceeds expectations. The Sales Counselor manages the sales process from initial inquiry to residency through effective representation, negotiation, and promotion of the community to the individual consumer and their influencers.

Essential Functions

  • Meets and exceeds established sales and occupancy goals.
  • Conducts prospect outreach and follow-up activities to generate and maintain leads.
  • Schedules and conducts tours, presentations, and appointments with prospective residents and influencers.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the CRM system.
  • Assists with planning and execution of marketing and community outreach events.
  • Communicates effectively with prospects, families, and team members throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborates with community leadership to address prospect concerns and facilitate successful move-ins.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with depositors and future residents during development phases.
  • Independently negotiates and resolves prospect concerns related to residency decisions.
  • Develops and maintains strategic relationships to support occupancy goals.
  • Staffs the sales office based on operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including HIPAA and the Code of Conduct, completing required training and reporting concerns promptly.
  • This position is designated as essential to the operations of the organization. Team members in this role may be required to report to work during emergencies, inclement weather, or other situations when the organization remains operational.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer use.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to travel locally for outreach, presentations, and home visits as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Professional office and senior living community environment.
  • Frequent interaction with residents, prospective residents, families, and team members.
  • May require attendance at events outside normal business hours.

Schedule

  • 8am - 5pm
Requirements:

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of sales experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Senior living sales experience.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems, preferably Enquire/Aline.
  • Experience in Life Plan Community (CCRC) sales and marketing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong closing and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to effectively present to both small and large groups.
  • Ability to independently manage prospect relationships and sales activities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
