Through our BakeFace™ brand private-label partnerships, we supply a broad portfolio of Honestly Fresh™ baked goods to retailers nationwide.
We are hiring in our oven department and are offering weekly pay! Our Oven team works in two crews, an AM crew starting at 5:00 am and a PM crew starting at 10:00 pm. The AM Oven team supports the post-baking process by packing cookies and Individually Wrapped (IW) products and operating the overwrap machine to prepare items for transport. The PM Oven team member is responsible for supporting the baking process by preparing trays, handling dough products, and assisting with baking and portioning tasks. This entry-level role focuses primarily on panning but also includes exposure to other stages of the production process such as mixing, baking, cutting, and portioning.
Key Responsibilities for AM Oven Team Member:
- Accurately pack baked cookies and IW products into designated packaging, ensuring product quality and count accuracy.
- Sort and pack individually wrapped products according to production standards and packaging requirements.
- Run and monitor the overwrap machine to securely seal trays or baskets for delivery, ensuring proper function and safety.
- Quality Control: Inspect products during packing for visual defects or inconsistencies and report issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures for equipment and workspaces.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are sanitized regularly.
- Dispose of waste materials properly and promptly.
- Adhere to hygiene standards and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by your supervisor.
Key Responsibilities for PM Oven Team Member:
- Review the bake list to understand the production schedule for the day.
- Prepare for the next day's baking requirements.
- Load trays with products and assist with operating the oven.
- Support the Oven Coordinator or Oven Lead as needed.
- Accurately place dough products on trays, ensuring proper spacing and alignment for baking.
- Help with cutting and portioning baked goods according to product specifications.
- Assist with preparing and staging ingredients for mixing as needed.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures for equipment and workspaces.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are sanitized regularly.
- Dispose of waste materials properly and promptly.
- Adhere to hygiene standards and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by your supervisor.
Qualifications for AM and PM Oven Team Members:
- Previous experience in a commercial bakery or similar environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and procedures accurately.
- Knowledge of baking processes and equipment operation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work any day of the week, including weekends (schedule is subject to change).
- Must have a reliable form of transportation to get to work on a daily basis.
- Ability to learn and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Authorization to work in the US (must provide proper documentation).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements for AM and PM Oven Team Members:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to periodically lift and move up to 30lbs.
- Manual dexterity for operating equipment.
Work Environment for AM and PM Oven Team Members:
- Manufacturing bakery environment with exposure to machinery, temperature variation, noise, and moving equipment.
- Regular standing, walking, and presence on the production floor is required.
