Job Description

People Operations Generalist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a People Operations Generalist based in United States.

This is a hands-on People Operations role supporting a rapidly growing, globally distributed technology organization.
You will help manage and improve employee lifecycle processes, systems, and programs across a remote workforce.
The role combines operational ownership with opportunities to redesign workflows and introduce automation and AI.
You will work across HR systems, global employment models, EOR partners, benefits, compliance, and employee support.
As the organization expands internationally, you will contribute to building scalable and efficient People practices.
The environment values autonomy, thoughtful communication, curiosity, and strong attention to detail.
This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership while developing expertise in global People Operations.

Accountabilities
  • Own day-to-day People Operations processes, including onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, lifecycle changes, and first-line employee support.

  • Maintain accurate employee records across HRIS, People systems, documentation, and related platforms, ensuring strong data integrity.

  • Coordinate recurring People programs, including new-hire feedback cycles and performance-related processes.

  • Partner with EOR providers and external specialists on global employment, immigration, benefits, and country-specific operational questions.

  • Maintain clear, accurate, and accessible People documentation, policies, playbooks, and employee resources.

  • Research employment requirements when expanding into new countries, including employment models, benefits, costs, timelines, and operational considerations.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and reduce manual work through AI, automation, and improved system design.

  • Lead improvements to key employee experiences, particularly onboarding and other lifecycle processes.

  • Proactively identify operational risks, upcoming deadlines, process gaps, and data-quality issues, taking ownership of solutions.

  • Collaborate with employees and managers across different locations and time zones through both synchronous and asynchronous communication.

  • Take on increasingly complex People programs and projects as the organization and global footprint grow.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or a similar function, preferably within a fast-moving technology environment.

  • Hands-on experience managing employee data across HRIS, People systems, and related documentation, with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Strong organizational and detail-management skills, with the ability to manage recurring processes reliably and independently.

  • Experience supporting remote teams and working effectively with tools such as Notion, Slack, Zoom, or comparable collaboration platforms.

  • Resourcefulness and curiosity, with the ability to research unfamiliar topics, ask effective questions, involve the right stakeholders, and develop practical solutions.

  • Demonstrated interest in improving People Operations through AI, automation, workflow redesign, and scalable systems.

  • Clear, thoughtful, and empathetic communication skills across different audiences and communication formats.

  • High ownership and comfort with ambiguity, including the ability to create structure where processes or playbooks are still evolving.

  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee information and sensitive People matters.

  • Experience working with a global workforce, Employers of Record (EORs), or employees across multiple countries is highly valued.

  • Exposure to immigration, global mobility, international employment models, or country-specific employment requirements is a plus.

Benefits
  • Competitive equity in a fast-growing technology company backed by leading investors, including Y Combinator.

  • 10-year window to exercise vested equity options.

  • Fully remote work environment designed around autonomy and flexibility.

  • 4–5 weeks of flexible time off annually.

  • Paid coworking space.

  • Workspace budget.

  • Continuous learning and professional development stipend.

  • Opportunity to develop expertise in global employment, People systems, automation, and employee experience.

  • Exposure to a distributed workforce spanning multiple countries and employment models.
