Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant – Therapy Services – PRN (as needed)

What to expect as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant:

• Provide hands-on assistance to patients during exercises and activities.
• Monitor and document patient progress, report observations to the supervising occupational therapists.
• Assist in educating patients and their family members.
• Maintain and organize therapy equipment and treatment areas.
• Provide occupational therapy services to a diverse patient population.
• Apply various techniques and knowledge of current occupational therapy methodologies.
• Ensure patients understand and follow through with prescribed plans.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Passing of the NBOCT Exam
• Missouri State Licensure
• 2-3 years of experience preferred
• BLS required.
• Ability to carry out treatment plans under guidance of an Occupational Therapist.
• Display skill with occupational therapy equipment, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology.
• Have an understanding of various medical conditions.
• Have exceptional communication and intrapersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to build rapport with patients and other professionals.
