Job Description
The University of Pittsburgh's Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology is seeking personnel to annotate the melanoma specimen bank. They will work closely with laboratory members and the PI of our research group, while supporting our research goals of aiding in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of melanoma. To facilitate the success of these goals, the incumbent will be responsible for the organization and quality of samples from >8,000+ melanoma patients. All samples must be handled per protocol, and with care, during organization to guarantee the samples are maintained at the highest quality for collaborators. Tasks primarily include inventorying and updating our current freezer logs. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office to create accurate and clear inventory logs for the laboratory. This position will require working with liquid nitrogen freezers and lifting full freezer racks for organizational purposes. Additional duties may be requested to fulfill the goal of this position
An associate's is required for this position and a Bachelor's degree is Preferred.
