Are you looking for an opportunity to lead financial operations within a growing industrial manufacturing environment? This exciting opportunity as a Segment Controller focuses on overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, compliance, and business unit financial performance while partnering closely with operations leadership to drive profitability and operational excellence. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting and finance professional with strong manufacturing finance expertise who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys supporting strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day financial activities including inventory accounting, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and cost tracking for the business segment
- Prepare and maintain month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit schedules
- Develop and manage annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analyses to support business objectives
- Monitor financial performance and provide actionable insights to leadership teams regarding profitability and cost control initiatives
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow activities, and revenue recognition processes
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and company policies
- Prepare tax work papers and support federal and state tax reporting activities
- Partner with operations, engineering, and commercial teams to evaluate project costs and support business decisions
- Assist with internal and external audits while maintaining strong financial controls
- Support bids, proposals, and capital projects through financial analysis and modeling
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and cost reductions
- Present financial results and recommendations to management teams on a regular basis
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
- 5+ years of Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Manufacturing Finance experience required
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis required
- Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles required
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience supporting audits, reconciliations, and financial controls required
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams required
- Ability to work onsite within a manufacturing environment required
Preferred Experience:
- CPA certification preferred
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or energy sectors preferred
- Experience with IFRS 15 and revenue recognition preferred
- Experience supporting multi-site or business unit financial operations preferred
- Strong background in cost accounting and inventory accounting preferred
