About the Role
CivilityMS is seeking an Accounting Clerk III Lead to support financial operations and customer engagement activities for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
This position serves as a working lead responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, coordinating workload activities, assisting with customer engagement functions, and helping ensure timely resolution of inquiries, tickets, reconciliations, and operational support requirements. The Accounting Clerk III Lead serves as a key liaison between contractor staff, Government stakeholders, and program leadership to support efficient and effective service delivery.
The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, customer service experience, financial operations knowledge, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced operational environment.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED and completion of at least two years of post-secondary education in business, management, finance, accounting, or a related field
OR
• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience supporting business, management, finance, or accounting operations in addition to post-secondary education
OR
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field
• Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting accounting, financial operations, customer service, administrative operations, payroll, travel, revenue operations, or related business functions
• Experience coordinating workload assignments and supporting team operations
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting Federal Government operations
• Experience supporting DHS, CBP, Treasury, USDA, or other Federal agencies
• Experience leading small teams, coordinating workflow, or serving as a functional lead
• Experience working in customer service, help desk, payroll, travel, accounting, revenue operations, or financial management environments
• Experience supporting ticket management systems and customer inquiry tracking
• Experience monitoring workload queues, ticketing systems, or customer engagement operations
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
Responsibilities
• Support day-to-day operational activities and customer engagement functions
• Assist with coordinating workload assignments and task distribution among staff
• Monitor customer inquiries, tickets, and service requests to ensure timely resolution
• Assist with tracking workload metrics and performance indicators
• Provide support to contractor and Government leadership regarding operational status and workload trends
• Research and resolve customer inquiries related to assigned functional areas
• Assist with training, mentoring, and onboarding activities for new personnel
• Support quality control and process improvement initiatives
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and status updates as required
• Serve as a liaison between operational staff and management to facilitate issue resolution
• Support documentation updates, standard operating procedures, and training materials
Security Requirements
Ability to successfully obtain and maintain DHS suitability and all required CBP background investigation requirements.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
