GENERAL DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations related to the packaging, shipping, receiving, storage, and delivery of millwork, décor, and fixture components. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working both on the warehouse floor and in an operational leadership capacity.
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment, coordinating inventory and logistics, supervising warehouse personnel, and ensuring products are delivered accurately and on schedule. This position also includes facility maintenance responsibilities and regular interaction with vendors, delivery teams, and internal departments.
The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production and distribution environment.
FOCUS
Responsibilities
- Manage packaging, shipping, and receiving of all millwork, décor, and fixtures to new and existing shops.
- Manage warehouse layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
- Purchase warehouse and office supplies, inventory items and related materials.
- Deliver products to local and Midwest shops.
- General maintenance of warehouse, office, and grounds.
- Manage stock levels and reconcile with inventory control software.
- Prepare pick orders and close out invoices once products have shipped.
- Schedule and oversee warehouse team and manage the flow and quality of work.
- Inspect warehouse equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
- Must have the ability/stamina to work 45-50+ hours a week.
- Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate, and key in data.
- Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to stand/walk for 9-10 hours per day and sit for 1-2 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues.
- Must be able to communicate heavily through telephone, e-mail and in-person communications.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BEHAVIORS
- Must represent The Potbelly Way.
- Self-starter who can work well with others as well as independently.
- Must be extremely neat and organized, with the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- 5-8 years of warehouse management experience preferred.
- Experience operating a forklift.
- State driver's license with satisfactory DMV driving record.
- Proficient with computers.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to interact with all levels of a company.
- Associate's degree or higher preferred.
