DUTIES

The school of nursing BScN program requires a sessional faculty member to teach the course HEAL 3330. This course is an analysis of death, dying, and bereavement. It includes such topics as facing death, coping with dying, hospice care, bereavement, grief and mourning; funeral practices; lifespan perspectives on death; suicide; and assisted suicide, and euthanasia.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree required
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in nursing;
  • Experience in nursing education
  • Experience using teaching and learning technologies
  • Experience using a learning management system
  • Experience in preparing evaluative tools and grading
  • Experience teaching undergraduate students in a theory course (preferred)
  • Three (3) years or equivalent hours of clinical practice experience in a relevant field of nursing (Palliative/End-of-Life Care preferred)
  • Exemplary communication skills (written, oral, and electronic)
  • An understanding of, and experience in, the Canadian healthcare system
  • Practicing RN membership with BCCNM
Pay Band
$2,575.50 - $2,575.50 ( Sessional Faculty - Academic (per credit) )
