Job Summary

The Associate, Portfolio Management will play an integral role in supporting the maintenance and development of portfolio-level models, dashboards, and reporting that inform Cabot’s fund-level decision-making. Working closely with the Director, Portfolio Management, this individual will collaborate across Capital Markets, Investments, and Investor Relations to ensure data accuracy, deliver insightful analyses, and support portfolio compliance and performance monitoring.

This is a growth-oriented role suited for a motivated professional with strong financial modeling skills and 2–4 years of relevant experience.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Modeling & Analytics

  • Build, enhance, and maintain portfolio-level financial models, including actual and forecasted investment, operating, and financing data and assumptions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing dynamic tools to track investment performance across Cabot vehicles.
  • Conduct scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of new investments and financings on fund performance.
  • Analyze disposition opportunities within the context of the overall portfolio strategy and in an effort to maximize fund-level returns.

Reporting & Deliverables

  • Prepare recurring deliverables for the Capital Markets, Investor Relations and Investment teams, Investment Committee, and other senior leaders, summarizing key performance metrics.
  • Support internal discussions and presentations for Investment Committee meetings with analyses and data reports.

Investor Support & Compliance

  • Partner with Investor Relations to provide timely, accurate responses to investor requests.
  • Monitor financial covenants to ensure compliance with fund and debt covenants.

Collaboration

  • Partner with Capital Markets, Investments, and Investor Relations teams on portfolio-related analysis and strategic projects.
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth and efficiency of the Portfolio Management function.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Real Estate, or Business preferred; strong academic credentials required.
  • 2–4 years of analytical experience, ideally in portfolio management, real estate, finance, or investment analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with SQL, Power BI, Argus, and technical AI prompting preferred.
  • Solid understanding of financial modeling, fund structures, and capital markets.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Hybrid work model based primarily in a professional office environment.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of computers and digital communication platforms.
  • Occasional travel for investor meetings, conferences, or internal company events.
