CHILD WATCH LEAD in Midland, Michigan at Greater Midland Community Centers Inc

Reporting to the Member Services Manager, the Child Watch Lead is responsible for providing high-quality care to children within Child Watch. The Lead is responsible for scheduling staff, conducting performance reviews, leading staff meetings/training and addressing staff needs and concerns. The Child Watch Lead is expected to model servant leadership, uphold Greater Midland’s Purpose and Values, and foster a culture of excellence and integrity throughout the organization.

Major Job Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of all participant documentation and organization for proper reporting requirements.

• Manage day-to-day operations of Child Watch department including scheduling, training and mentoring staff.

• Maintain a good relationship with parents through regular communication and active participation with children.

• Ensure children participate in developmentally appropriate games and learning activities.

• Prepare the area for the program by ensuring toys, supplies, play areas, storage areas, bathroom areas, and furniture are safe, clean, sanitized, organized, and well maintained.

• Attend to the needs of the children including feeding, distributing snacks/drinks provided by parent/guardian, restroom assistance and diapering needs.

• Ensure the safety of the children as this is our number one priority.

• Consistently demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.

Qualification Requirements

• Minimum age 18 years

• CPR/First Aid Training within 60 days of hire

• Experience working with young children preferred

Physical Requirements

Child Watch is located in the Greater Midland Community Center. Regular communication and contact with employees and parents. Various hours including early morning, late evenings and occasional weekends. Bending and stooping for play, lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds may be required.
