About the role
Are you someone who enjoys helping others and creating a positive first impression? Our Medical Appointment Scheduler plays a vital role in the beginning of each patient's healthcare journey — and we’re looking for a caring, detail-oriented professional to join our team!
In this important role, you'll be the friendly voice patients hear when they call to schedule their first appointment. You’ll respond to questions, assist with scheduling, and help ensure every caller feels heard, supported, and confident in their decision to choose our practice.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
What you'll do
The Medical Appointment Scheduler serves as the first point of contact for patients and families calling our practice. This role is responsible for answering inbound calls, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, verifying insurance and demographics, and providing exceptional service with an “attitude of gratitude.” The Scheduler ensures patients receive timely, accurate information and supports the clinic’s overall patient access and service excellence goals. This role is essential for ensuring efficient scheduling and management of patient appointments within a medical office setting.

- Medical Experience Preferred, but not required
- Ability to communicate, read, write and comprehend assigned tasks
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic environment is preferred, with familiarity in roles such as medical receptionist or dental receptionist.
- Experience with health information management systems and other EMR/EHR platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing multiple tasks effectively.

The pay range for this role is:
17.50 - 20 USD per hour(Plano Orthopedic & Sports Medicine center)
