This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of FP&A based in Canada.
This is a senior finance leadership role responsible for shaping the financial strategy of a high-growth, product-driven organization operating at the intersection of technology and data. You will lead end-to-end financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis to support executive decision-making and long-term business performance. The role sits at the core of business operations, partnering closely with leadership across product, sales, marketing, and operations to translate company strategy into actionable financial plans. You will own the development of robust financial models and ensure visibility into key SaaS metrics, performance drivers, and investment decisions. This is a highly cross-functional and influential position with direct exposure to executive leadership and board-level reporting. You will also play a key role in scaling financial systems, improving processes, and building a high-performing FP&A function in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead the company’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles, ensuring alignment across all business units and executive stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models to support strategic decision-making, scenario planning, and growth initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership to analyze business performance, identify key drivers, risks, and opportunities, and provide clear, actionable insights.
- Own the annual operating plan (AOP) and quarterly re-forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and cross-functional accountability.
- Deliver high-quality financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance insights for leadership teams and board-level presentations.
- Support strategic initiatives including pricing, product expansion, investments, and operational efficiency programs through in-depth financial analysis.
- Collaborate with department leaders across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to optimize budgets and improve resource allocation.
- Lead and develop the FP&A function, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- 8–12+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or similar analytical finance roles, ideally within SaaS or high-growth environments.
- Strong expertise in SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, CAC, LTV) and deep experience in financial planning, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Proven track record of partnering with executive leadership (CEO, COO, CFO) to drive strategic planning and business performance.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems, Excel/financial modeling tools, and experience improving finance tech stacks and processes.
- Strong ability to synthesize complex financial data into clear insights and executive-level recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience preparing board-level materials.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience mentoring or managing finance professionals.
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.
