Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead advanced troubleshooting and repair of propulsion, diesel, gas, electrical, auxiliary, navigation, steering, and vessel control systems.
  • Support or conduct dockside, underway, operational, and acceptance testing activities.
  • Review technical documentation, drawings, manuals, test procedures, and service records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, engineering, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Operate assigned equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, crane and travel lift when trained and authorized.
  • Mentor lower-level technicians and help verify workmanship, safety compliance, and task completion.
  • Support labour, material, and schedule planning by identifying risks, constraints, and corrective actions.
  • Lead boat hauling and launch opinations to include pressure washing, blocking for storage and mooring.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced electrical and testing knowledge; strong boat handling and deck experience; computer and data entry proficiency; ability to liaise professionally with customers; ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • 100T captain’s license preferred where applicable.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment where exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, dust, fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise level.
    • Employees must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and or move more than 75 pounds.
    • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to strand, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, talk and hear.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protection and work boots.
