The Opportunity
We're seeking a dynamic Controls Engineer to support the successful execution of automation and controls projects while ensuring customer commitments are met. This role is responsible for developing project submittal packages, preparing parts quotations, coordinating parts procurement, and maintaining project schedules to support timely delivery. The Controls Engineer also ensures accurate and complete project closeout documentation for customers, while maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous professional development through industry training, networking, and professional organizations.
What You'll Do
· Assist in the development of project submittal packages and control drawings to support the successful execution of building automation and controls projects.
· Procure required components and equipment for assigned projects, ensuring materials are ordered accurately and delivered according to project schedules.
· Participate in the development and implementation of control sequences and programming that meet project specifications and customer requirements.
· Create and maintain graphical user interfaces and system visualizations that provide customers with clear and effective monitoring and control of their building systems.
· Support the integration of building automation systems, third-party equipment, and networked devices into the Building Management System (BMS).
· Assist with troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and startup activities to verify proper operation and performance of control systems.
· Apply engineering principles, technical knowledge, and company standards to support project design, execution, and customer satisfaction.
· Provide technical assistance and support to sales, operations, and project teams during project planning and execution.
· Participate in customer and owner training to ensure proper understanding and operation of installed building automation systems.
· Develop DDC control databases, point mapping, graphical interfaces, third-party integrations, and system documentation to support project requirements.
· Review equipment submittals and product documentation for compatibility with project designs and control system requirements.
· Maintain accurate project records and support the completion of closeout documentation to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and professionally.
· Continuously develop technical expertise through structured learning paths, training programs, industry publications, professional organizations, and hands-on project experience.
· Provide support for special projects and additional assignments as requested by management. These assignments may, at the discretion of management, become part of the position's ongoing responsibilities.

Requirements:Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a certificate in HVAC, AAS, or BAS, or equivalent and a combination of education and experience.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree engineering or related field of study
- 2 years of HVAC Controls experience
- Experience with logic programming, data networking and cybersecurity, and/or graphical design
