Description:

Ray County Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our high-performing clinical team. This role is essential to delivering accurate, timely diagnostic results that support patient care across our inpatient, outpatient, and emergency departments.

About the Role

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine and complex laboratory testing, maintains quality control standards, and ensures compliance with CLIA and hospital policies. This position works closely with providers, nursing staff, and the Laboratory Manager to support safe, efficient patient care in a rural hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Diagnostic Testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, microbiology, and immunology.
  • Collect and Process Specimens following strict chain-of-custody and safety protocols.
  • Operate and Maintain Lab Equipment including analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges.
  • Conduct Quality Control, calibrations, and proficiency testing to maintain CLIA compliance.
  • Verify and Report Results, including timely communication of critical values.
  • Maintain Accurate Documentation in logs, worksheets, and the EHR.
  • Support clinical teams with timely testing and excellent communication.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide rapid testing during emergencies.

Schedule

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Clinical lab experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
  • Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety.
