About

The Quality Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and executing field quality activities to ensure all construction, MEP systems, and commissioning-related installations comply with project specifications, client requirements, company standards, and industry best practices. This role serves as the primary field quality leader for assigned scopes and areas, ensuring inspections, testing, documentation, and deficiency management activities are completed in accordance with project requirements.

The Quality Superintendent works closely with Construction, MEP, Commissioning, and Trade Partners to promote a zero-defect culture and ensure systems are installed correctly the first time. In mission-critical and hyperscale environments, the focus is on quality execution, risk mitigation, system readiness, and delivering operationally ready facilities at turnover.

Responsibilities
  • Lead field execution of QA/QC activities for assigned project areas and disciplines.

  • Verify installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, manufacturer requirements, and project standards.

  • Conduct field inspections, audits, and quality assessments across Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Controls, and Life Safety systems.

  • Coordinate with Construction, MEP, and Commissioning teams to ensure quality requirements are incorporated into daily operations.

  • Monitor installation quality and identify deficiencies, non-conforming work, and quality concerns.

  • Manage and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), punch list items, and deficiency logs.

  • Support commissioning readiness efforts by verifying systems are inspected, documented, and complete prior to testing.

  • Review and validate inspection reports, test records, checklists, and turnover documentation.

  • Participate in project meetings, planning sessions, and quality reviews.

  • Assist with root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Monitor quality metrics and provide status updates to project leadership.

  • Support training and development of QA/QC Engineers, Coordinators, and field personnel.

  • Promote safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and a build-it-right-the-first-time culture.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or related field preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education, military service, technical training, and industry experience may be considered.

  • 5-8 years of experience in construction, QA/QC, commissioning, or related technical disciplines.

  • Experience in mission-critical, hyperscale data center, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or large commercial construction projects preferred.

  • Experience performing inspections, audits, testing support, and quality verification activities.

  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, integrated systems testing, and turnover requirements preferred.

  • Industry certifications such as CQM, CQM-C, OSHA, ASQ, or related certifications are preferred.
