About Central Nevada Gold
Central Nevada Gold Corp. is the 100% owner of the Mule Canyon Gold Mine located ten kilometers southeast of Battle Mountain and five kilometers south of the i80 interstate highway. Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the Company's health and safety management systems, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA (where applicable), environmental regulations, and Company safety standards.
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and lessons learned reporting.
- Develop and deliver safety orientations, task-specific training, emergency response drills, and ongoing safety education programs.
- Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with Company and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain safety records, regulatory reporting, training documentation, and key performance metrics.
- Participate in project planning to ensure safety considerations are incorporated into operational activities and site development.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response plans and interactions with external agencies.
- Foster a positive safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, field leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Mining, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible health and safety experience in mining, construction, heavy industrial, or related environments.
- Strong working knowledge of MSHA regulations, safety management systems, and incident investigation methodologies.
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, safety training, and regulatory reporting.
- Professional certifications (CSHO, CSP, CRSP, OHST, or equivalent) are considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence safe behaviors and build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to senior leadership and works cross-functionally with geology, engineering, operations, and corporate teams.
