Position Overview

The Chief Geologist will lead all geological functions supporting exploration, resource growth, mine development, and long-term reserve replacement at the Mule Canyon Project and other company assets. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement, guiding multidisciplinary programs from target generation through resource definition while ensuring geological models, databases, and reporting meet the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all geological activities including exploration, resource development, mine geology, and geologic modeling.
  • Build, develop and maintain a high-performance geology department focused on safety, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead district-scale exploration targeting through integration of geological, structural, geochemical, geophysical, and drilling datasets.
  • Directs resource definition drilling to grow reserves, and oversees geological data, modeling and interpretations to ensure reliable mineral resource estimations.
  • Ensure geological databases, sampling protocols, QA/QC procedures, and chain-of-custody meet industry best practices.
  • Foster collaboration across Exploration, Mine Operations, Engineering, Metallurgy, Environmental, and Land departments.
  • Prepare and manage geology budgets with oversite on contractor and program performance.
  • Deliver technical presentations and strategic updates to executive leadership and the Board of Directors regarding exploration performance, resource growth, and geological risks.
  • Create, review and edit internal and external technical reports to support regulatory compliance, mineral resource disclosures, and public reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • B.S degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related discipline (M.S. preferred).
  • Qualified Person status or the ability to become a Qualified Person in two or less years.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in managing multidisciplinary geology teams.
  • Strong knowledge of structural geology, alteration systems and mineralization controls (Low Sulfidation Epithermal experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Leapfrog Geo, ArcGIS and Vulcan/Datamine or equivalent mining software.
  • Experience managing RC and diamond drilling programs and road/pad construction.
  • Strong budgeting, project management, and contractor oversight experience.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and environmental stewardship.

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Geology Manager and works cross-functionally with engineering, operations, permitting and corporate teams.
