REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Responsible for managing corporate benefits structure, employee insurance benefits, 401k plan, and in conjunction with Director of HR. Responsible for all benefits modules in HRIS.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with Director of Human Resources to manage the insurance and financial benefits related to the bank’s total rewards program including: medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, disability insurance, stock awards and any associated auditing and reporting.
  • Analyze plans, benchmarking, employee feedback and available data to recommend products, benefits enhancements or reductions, cost share changes and appropriate vendor partners after coordination with consultants.
  • Manage vendor EDI feeds including decisioning feed partners, creation and testing with vendors, verification of accuracy.
  • Foster positive relationships with third party vendors and brokers, including but not limited to; benefits consultants, 401k and pension providers and auditors, and outside ERISA counsel.
  • Acts as main point of contact for benefits brokers /consultants as it relates to quoting plans during annual reviews, and managing issues related to plan administration. Escalates to Director as needed.
  • Design HRIS features related to benefits, open enrollment, life events and terminations and coordinate with payroll to ensure accuracy.
  • Participate in service calls with Stock Transfer Agent supporting Director of HR with coordinating stock grants and exercises, including payroll coordination for taxation and reporting.
  • Review insurance enrollment, changes, terminations, and billing.
  • Processes 401k rollovers, hardships, contribution, and loan updates.
  • Manage process for STD/LTD claims and Worker’s Compensation claims filing, including appropriate delegation and coordination with other HR staff members. Coordinate with Risk on purchase and management of state specific Worker’s Compensation policies.
  • Responsible for managing Annual Compliance reporting, filing and notifications.
  • Acts as benefits inquiry escalation for complex issues, coordinates with HR staff for appropriate delegation of Q&A.

  • Excellent customer service skills: ability to deal effectively with employees, management, vendors, and the public. Must be able to communicate clearly & concisely over the phone.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Applications including Excel, Word, Teams and PowerPoint.

  • Flexible in performing different tasks; enjoys a varied work environment.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.

Physical Demands

This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.

Travel

Limited local travel may be required for this position.

For Applicants located in Northern Viriginia (VA): The pay range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 Annually.

The ranges listed for Viriginia and/or Maryland represent the good-faith compensation the Company reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation, such as bonuses or incentive pay, where applicable.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Related bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of benefits administration/education experience, including group health plan and retirement plan experience.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
  • Human Resources Certification (CEBS, PHR, SPHR, etc.) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word required.
