This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a BIAA Senior Applications Engineer (Application Engineer, Sr.) based in United States.
The Senior Applications Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data solutions that enable better healthcare outcomes and operational decisions.
This highly technical position focuses on data engineering, analytics platforms, and scalable solutions within complex healthcare data environments.
You will build and optimize ETL pipelines, data models, and business intelligence assets that support clinical operations, financial analytics, and population health initiatives.
The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with analysts, clinicians, and business leaders to transform healthcare data into meaningful insights.

You will contribute to modern cloud-based analytics solutions while ensuring secure, accurate, and scalable data delivery across the organization.
- Design, develop, and optimize enterprise ETL pipelines using technologies such as Epic Caboodle Console, SQL Server SSIS, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Data Factory.
- Build and maintain scalable data structures, including star schemas, fact tables, dimension tables, slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), aggregates, and bridge tables.
- Develop advanced SQL and T-SQL solutions, including query optimization, data profiling, validation, source-to-target mapping, and troubleshooting.
- Support secure data ingestion and exchange processes with external partners through technologies such as SFTP and PGP workflows.
- Diagnose and resolve ETL failures, data quality issues, and performance challenges across hybrid on-premise and cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions, including Power BI data models, dashboards, semantic layers, and analytics assets.
- Build and support healthcare analytics structures, including Epic-based analytical models and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with clinical teams, analysts, and operational leaders to create meaningful metrics and actionable insights.
- Participate in system upgrades, regression testing, implementation planning, and Agile/SDLC development processes.
- Create technical documentation for data models, pipelines, workflows, and system processes while providing guidance to developers, analysts, and end users.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a related field with 8+ years of IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 10+ years of IT, healthcare, clinical, or operational experience may also qualify.
- 2+ years of experience as an Application Engineer or Developer working with SQL Server SSIS.
- 2+ years of advanced SQL/T-SQL development experience, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience with ETL development, dimensional modeling, metadata management, and technical documentation.
- 3+ years of experience working with relational databases and enterprise data environments.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, star-schema design, and slowly changing dimension methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, document complex systems, and work effectively within Agile or SDLC frameworks.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain Epic Caboodle Developer proficiency or certification within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain Microsoft Power BI or Fabric certification within 9 months of hire.
- Experience with Epic Caboodle, Epic Clarity, healthcare data, claims data, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or Azure Data Lake is highly preferred.
