Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to lead and coordinate engineering efforts in RP & PP Instrumentation and Control. In this role, you will guide multidisciplinary teams across electrical engineering, software development, and systems engineering to deliver advanced instrumentation and control solutions. You will guide the development and lifecycle management of electronic systems and embedded software, ensuring technical integrity, adherence to requirements, and effective integration across departments.
This position requires close collaboration with key external partners, customers, and internal stakeholders. You will help shape longterm strategies for system upgrades, modernization, and sustainment, translating those strategies into executable plans and driving the organization to achieve them. This work will be in close collaboration with EB engineering, NAVSEA 08K, BPMI, NNS and NNL. You will be responsible for tracking program performance, identifying risks, ensuring clear communication across engineering teams, and preparing concise, insightful progress briefings for customers and leadership.
You will also be responsible for direct development and refreshment of the 08K -led I&C Strategic plan, development and refinement of action plans to achieve the strategic initiatives, and preparation for periodic program reviews. In this role, you will serve as the EB lead on the 08K Executive Steering Committee (KESC), working closely with peers at NNL, BPMI and NNS. You will be responsible for preparing briefings for meetings with the KESC and the KPEC (K Program Executive Council), and for tracking EB and partner performance to the objectives of the strategic plan.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong technical background, proven engineering leadership or program management experience, and the ability to navigate complex, multiorganization environments. Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering,Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of engineering experience in instrumentation and control, electronic systems design, embedded systems, or related technical disciplines.
- 4+ years of supervisory experience
- Active Secret security clearance is required
Preferred:
- Proven ability to develop, manage, and track complex technical programs from concept through delivery and lifecycle sustainment.
- Experience working directly with external customers, partners, or suppliers in a technical or programmatic capacity.
- Experience working with NAVSEA 08K on electrical, or I&C efforts
- Strong understanding of system design processes, configuration management, requirements development, and verification/validation practices.
