About the Role:
The Senior Systems Engineer will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT infrastructure systems that support the organization's strategic objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of system architecture, network configurations, and security protocols to ensure robust, scalable, and secure environments. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze system requirements, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance. Additionally, the role involves leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the development of best practices and documentation. Ultimately, the Senior Systems Engineer will ensure the reliability and efficiency of the organization's technology infrastructure to support business continuity and growth. Any experience with Satellite Communications and agile software development is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency with large-scale Project Management and tracking tools to include Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Active TS/SCI + clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as INCOSE CSEP, PMP, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of satellite communications principles, specifically Ground Systems or Cryptologic solutions
- Background in cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
Responsibilities:
- Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts
- Responsible for analyzing user's requirements, operations documents, and high-level systems architectures
- Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to implement integrated solutions.
- Analyze system requirements.
- Lead technical projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior systems engineers and staff.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency and capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies related to the project under development.
Skills:
The Senior Systems Engineer will utilize their technical expertise daily to design and optimize complex systems that meet organizational needs. Strong satellite communications background and/or SATCOM terminal background are required to collaborate and enable an integrated solution for next-generation capabilities. Additionally, leadership and communication skills are essential for collaborating with diverse teams, mentoring colleagues, and driving projects to successful completion.
Travel Requirements
As requested by the government customer to travel to government customer sites (estimated 20% travel).
