Job Description
GXM is seeking a Technical Engineering Advisor to join our team to support advanced defense and space-related mission programs focused on Command and Control (C2), mission systems integration, enterprise modernization, and operational capability delivery.
The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor to Government stakeholders, providing expertise in software integration, interoperability, data exchange, and production transition activities. This individual will work closely with engineers, architects, vendors, mission partners, and Government personnel to evaluate technical solutions, coordinate integration efforts, and support the delivery of mission capabilities across operational environments.
This role requires expertise in software integration, API-based architectures, enterprise interoperability, data exchange frameworks, and capability transition planning within complex mission ecosystems.
This role is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO. Hybrid flexibility may be available over time based on mission requirements, program execution needs, and achievement of objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical advisory support to Government stakeholders on software integration, interoperability, and operational capability delivery activities as this relates to other awarded contractor/vendor solutioning within the overall program.
- Assess and coordinate cross-vendor integration efforts to ensure compatibility, interoperability, and mission effectiveness across enterprise and operational environments.
- Support development and implementation of API integration strategies enabling data sharing and system interoperability.
- Advise on data exchange orchestration approaches supporting mission systems, operational workflows, and enterprise capabilities.
- Evaluate interoperability requirements and integration approaches across applications, platforms, and mission systems.
- Support planning and execution of capability expansion efforts across Space Force mission environments and operational stakeholders.
- Advise on scaling strategies supporting deployment of capabilities across multiple Combatant Command (CCMD) and mission environments.
- Support follow-on production planning activities to ensure successful operational adoption and sustainment of delivered capabilities.
- Coordinate transition activities supporting movement of prototype, demonstration, or OTA-developed capabilities into production environments.
- Assess commercial technologies and emerging software capabilities for integration into Government mission environments.
- Identify integration risks, interoperability challenges, and operational impacts and provide recommendations to Government and program leadership.
- Prepare technical assessments, architecture evaluations, transition plans, and recommendation packages supporting program decision-making.
- U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience supporting software integration, enterprise systems, interoperability engineering, or mission technology programs.
- Experience supporting API integration, data exchange architectures, or enterprise application integration efforts.
- Experience coordinating activities across multiple vendors, development teams, and stakeholder organizations.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, microservices, or modern software delivery environments.
- Experience supporting operational deployments, capability transitions, or production implementation efforts.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical briefing skills.
- Experience supporting technical reviews, integration assessments, and operational planning activities.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting defense, space, intelligence, or multi-domain operational environments.
- Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) systems, mission systems, or enterprise integration environments.
- Experience supporting OTA efforts, prototype transitions, or large-scale capability deployments.
- Experience with API management platforms, enterprise integration technologies, or service-oriented architectures.
$125,000-$185,000 salary + annual bonus eligibility + medical/dental/vision/STD/LTD/Life + 401(k) + PTO
