DESCRIPTION
Site Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment on construction and telecommunications job sites. This position performs daily site inspections, enforces safety policies and procedures, conducts safety training, and supports compliance with company, customer, federal, state, and local safety requirements. The Site Safety Coordinator serves as the primary on-site resource for safety-related matters and works closely with field personnel, project management, and customer representatives to prevent incidents and ensure safe project execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage multiple hyperscale data center projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, from project handoff through closeout.
- Conduct daily job site inspections to identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential hazards.
- Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with company safety policies, customer requirements, OSHA regulations, and applicable safety standards.
- Immediately address and document unsafe acts or conditions and work with site leadership to implement corrective actions.
- Conduct and support new hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training programs.
- Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, education, and consistent enforcement of safety requirements.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, incidents, and near-misses and prepare detailed reports with recommended corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and incident logs.
- Inspect, track, and help coordinate distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Verify employees and subcontractors maintain required safety certifications and training.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related questions from employees, subcontractors, customers, and project teams.
- Participate in project safety meetings and communicate safety concerns, trends, and recommendations to management.
- Assist project teams with site-specific safety planning.
- Monitor housekeeping practices and ensure work areas, access routes, and emergency exits remain safe and accessible.
- Support customer safety audits, site inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Travel between project locations as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction management, Business, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be substituted.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a construction, telecommunications, industrial, or field-based safety role.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification required.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification required or ability to obtain certification within a specified period.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general construction safety practices.
- Ability to identify hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare reports, maintain documentation, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with employees, subcontractors, customers, and management.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel and work at various project locations as required.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
The worker is regularly exposed to construction site conditions and varying weather environments.
