Epic Applications Analyst, MyChart

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Epic Applications Analyst, MyChart based in the United States.

This role supports the development, optimization, and ongoing improvement of digital healthcare applications that enhance patient and provider experiences.
The Epic Applications Analyst, MyChart will translate business and clinical needs into effective technology solutions while ensuring reliable application performance.
You will collaborate with healthcare users, technical teams, and stakeholders to design workflows, configure systems, and deliver impactful improvements.
The position combines healthcare technology expertise, business analysis, project coordination, and user support.
You will play a key role in improving digital access, operational efficiency, and the overall patient experience through innovative application solutions.

Accountabilities:

The Epic Applications Analyst, MyChart is responsible for analyzing business and clinical requirements, configuring Epic applications, supporting implementations, and ensuring technology solutions effectively meet user and organizational needs.

  • Analyze, map, and improve clinical and business workflows to optimize assigned Epic applications and related processes.
  • Gather, document, and translate user requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Evaluate proposed solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives, clinical needs, and operational requirements.
  • Configure assigned Epic applications to support workflows, system functionality, and user expectations.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts for unit, integration, system, and end-user acceptance testing.
  • Track issues, document testing outcomes, and support quality assurance processes.
  • Create and deliver training materials while supporting end-user education and adoption of application features.
  • Monitor system performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement enhancements when needed.
  • Maintain application documentation, including workflows, specifications, user guides, troubleshooting resources, and change management records.
  • Communicate application updates, project progress, upgrades, and potential system impacts to users and stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple user requests, prioritize competing needs, and provide troubleshooting support.
  • Support application upgrades, maintenance activities, and ongoing optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with healthcare users, vendors, technical teams, and project stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines healthcare technology knowledge, business analysis skills, and Epic application experience with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an IT or clinical environment involving business process analysis, requirements gathering, testing, and documentation.
  • Experience working with Epic applications, healthcare systems, or related clinical technologies.
  • Ability to analyze workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and translate user needs into system specifications.
  • Knowledge of applications, operating systems, databases, hardware platforms, connectivity, and interface concepts.
  • Experience with project management practices and project management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, technical teams, vendors, and application users.
  • Understanding of change management practices and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Epic certifications within established timelines.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to support users and explain technical concepts clearly.
