Job Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall operations, functions and compliance of policy and procedures of the Facilities Department. Ensuring all mechanical, electrical, facility functions are in safe and efficient working condition. Responsible for the hiring, training and supervising of Facilities Employees. Enforces, monitors or develops and equipment testing procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for efficient scheduling, supervision, completion and overall operations of the maintenance employees throughout all SCDC entities and rental properties.
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, well maintained and orderly working environment throughout all SCDC entities and rental properties including aesthetics of those properties.
  • Develops and implements all preventative Maintenance Programs and Maintenance Schedules, ensuring all equipment is functional and in good working condition.
  • Monitors the performance of all outside services and the execution of all Maintenance Contracts.
  • Interview, select, train, supervise, develop and evaluate all Facilities Employees on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for adherence to department payroll and expense budgets.
  • Develops, assists in Budget preparation. Works within budgetary constraints to be cost effective and efficient.
  • Regularly facilitates communication with management of all necessary repairs, replacements and maintenance needs in a timely manner.
  • Ensures compliance with all internal Policies and Procedures including the Casino safety and Compliance policies. Adheres to all Safety Requirements.
  • Maintains proper inventory of supplies and equipment utilizing proper purchasing procedures and documentation. Maintains Sign-in of all supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains updated MSD binders and postings per OSHA regulations.
  • Evaluates, implements effective, efficient improved methods of cleaning techniques and equipment.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers in a professional, courteous and helpful manner.
  • Schedules outside training for department; electrical, HVAC etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining a regular, consistent attendance record.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year degree, four to six years Facilities Operations or related experience, training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate fluently in English.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and trips and falls.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud.

The Employee is exposed to secondhand cigarette smoke.

  • Face-to-face / in person: High level of interaction with employees and vendors. Moderate to low with guests.
  • Telephone interaction: High level of interaction with employees and vendors. Low with guests.
