Position: NDT Level II Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI) Technician
Location: 330 Governors Highway, South Windsor, CT 06074

Electro-Methods Inc., a Stronvar Aerospace company, is seeking a certified NDT Level II Fluorescent Penetrant Technician to perform high-precision inspections that ensure the integrity of aerospace components. This is a hands-on technical role that requires expertise, attention to detail, and a strong safety mindset.
Key Responsibilities• Perform FPI inspections in compliance with NAS 410, customer requirements, and company procedures.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate fluorescent penetrant inspection equipment.
• Interpret and evaluate inspection results and document findings accurately.
• Conduct inspections of castings, forgings, additive (DMLM) components, braze joints, and welds (EB, GTAW, resistance).
• Perform system performance checks per process standards.
• Develop work instructions (with Level III approval).
• Mentor and train Level I and trainee technicians in safe practices and technical skills.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, and other aerospace quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment, following PPE requirements.
• Support cross-training across other NDT methods when required.
Required
• Current Level II Fluorescent Penetrant Certification to NAS 410 (other equivalent standards may be considered).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizenship required due to program and contract compliance requirements.
• Strong knowledge of FPI inspection methods, equipment, and safety.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and work instructions.
• Proficiency in basic computer use for reporting and data entry.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred
• Previous aerospace or industrial inspection experience.
• Additional NDT certifications or experience (RT, UT, MT, ET).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
