Job Description
Position Description: Purpose
The Manager, Facility Operations - AZ plans, organizes and directs the overall maintenance operations of the Facilities department for the Arizona proving ground. This position leads the team on fulfilling department and company goals, oversight of operating and capital budgets, and ensures facility work orders and preventative maintenance services are completed successfully.
Essential Functions*
• Perform operational planning duties in the maintenance of the roads, grounds and buildings.
• Manages and trains a staff of employees in the general maintenance of buildings, grounds, infrastructure, and equipment.
• Prepares and implements preventive maintenance schedules.
• Selects and manages maintenance vendors and subcontractors
• Oversee contractors engaged for facility renovation projects.
• Supports and plans for testing support
• Plan for, and respond to, emergency maintenance requests
• Ensures facilities maintenance work follows safety standards, conforms to specifications, and work orders are tracked and completed within the budgeted guidelines.
• Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of relevant facilities experienced required
• 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• General knowledge of regulatory standards applicable to position
• Interpersonal skills
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Organizational and problem-solving skills
• Valid state DMV issued or valid foreign country issued driver’s license
• Ability to embrace change
• Ability to make independent and competent decisions
• Ability to complete and pass all internal, position specific job and safety trainings required
Working conditions
• Standard office, climate controlled environment
• Standard laboratory environment
• May be exposed to temperatures below 0 degree and above 95 degrees
• May be exposed to inclement weather
• May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, such as gas, oil, and paint
• Some travel is required
Physical requirements
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
· Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
· Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers
· Capable of positioning one’s self into bending, stretching, climbing, or awkward positions
· Ability to lift 25 lbs
