Job Description
Director Internal Communications
The Director of Internal Communications leads employee-facing communications that help Valleywise Health employees understand organizational priorities, connect to the mission, and stay informed, engaged, and aligned. The role develops clear, timely, and effective communications that support employee engagement, culture, leader alignment, organizational change, and operational readiness.
This position serves as a trusted communications partner to leaders and stakeholders across the organization, overseeing executive messages, leader talking points, change communications, crisis and emergency employee communications, newsletters, intranet content, culture and recognition storytelling, and internal campaigns. The Director must be both strategic and hands-on, with strong writing, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Annual Salary Range: $113,734.00 - $167,752.00
Qualifications
Education:
Education:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
-
Related Master’s degree is desirable.
Experience:
-
Must have at least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in communications or related field.
-
Prefers 5 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Must be a strong writer, presenter, communicator
-
Must have firm understanding of communications best practices
-
Must have an experience in designing, implementing, reporting and analyzing content communication strategies.
-
Must have knowledge of healthcare services and physician relations preferred.
-
Must possess excellent guest relation and communication skills, initiative, tact, diplomacy and other interpersonal skills necessary for effective leadership.

Must be a successful leader of people, have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.

Must be able to decide how to allocate people, time and other resource to create, execute, and accomplish an operating or project plan on time and within budget.

Must have solid analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to utilize the appropriate management techniques to plan, organize, control and coordinate activities.

Must be able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to change quickly and positively.

Must be able to work as a team member with peers, other managers, staff and senior leadership.

Must demonstrate necessary discretion in dealing with confidential information.

Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
