This role sits at the intersection of business analysis, technical design, and client collaboration within the life sciences and clinical trials domain. You will play a key part in translating complex clinical study protocols into structured system requirements that power interactive response technology (IRT) solutions. Working closely with clients, project managers, and technical teams, you will ensure that each system is accurately designed, configured, and maintained to support critical clinical trial operations. The environment is highly collaborative and fast-paced, requiring strong analytical thinking and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. You will act as a subject matter expert for clinical protocols while contributing to the design of scalable, high-quality digital solutions. AccountabilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for translating clinical and business needs into precise technical specifications and ensuring successful implementation across IRT systems. You will act as a key liaison between clients and internal delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with clients to define, analyze, and document system requirements and enhancements
- Serve as subject matter expert on clinical study protocols for moderately to highly complex trials
- Write detailed functional specifications for IRT systems, randomization models, kit lists, and system interfaces
- Partner with project managers, developers, and QA teams to ensure accurate system delivery
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) setup and execution activities
- Maintain documentation accuracy across evolving project requirements
- Continuously build expertise in platform capabilities and evolving product offerings
The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of analytical, technical, and communication skills, with experience in life sciences or clinical trial systems. You are detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic, client-driven environments.
- 2–4 years of experience in a software business analyst or similar role
- 2–4 years of experience in the life sciences or clinical research industry
- Strong ability to understand technical concepts and learn complex systems quickly
- Experience in fast-paced, entrepreneurial or high-growth environments preferred
- Familiarity with IRT, IVR, IWR, and/or IMR platforms is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of SQL is a plus
- Strong written communication skills, especially in documenting technical requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and quality focus
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with moderate supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across diverse teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
