About this position
This position is responsible for the administration, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of the organization's cloud and technology infrastructure. This position manages Microsoft 365 services, cloud platforms, identity and access management, endpoint management, networking, and business applications to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology services.
The systems administrator partners closely with the security analyst to implement and maintain security controls, remediate vulnerabilities, and support the security of organizational systems and data.
This role also collaborates with business partners, vendors, and IT team members to deliver technology solutions that support organizational goals and operational excellence.
What you’ll be doing
Cloud & Infrastructure Administration
- Administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and related collaboration technologies;
- Managing and supporting Microsoft Azure resources, cloud services, and integrations;
- Administering and maintaining identity and access management platforms, authentication services, and directory services;
- Maintaining and supporting wired and wireless network infrastructure, internet connectivity, printers, and endpoint devices;
- Monitoring system performance, reliability, availability, and capacity to ensure stable operations;
- Coordinating with vendors and service providers to support technology services and resolve technical issues.
Identity & Endpoint Management
- Managing endpoint deployment, configuration, lifecycle management, and software distribution;
- Administering device management platforms and endpoint security configurations;
- Maintaining user accounts, group memberships, role-based access controls, and system permissions;
- Supporting onboarding, offboarding, and user access provisioning processes.
Systems Operations & Support
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, cloud, and application issues;
- Implementing system upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and technology enhancements;
- Supporting business applications and cloud-based technology platforms used throughout the organization;
- Providing technical guidance and support to staff and business partners;
- Creating reports, queries, scripts, and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
- Maintaining backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes;
- Participating in testing and validation of recovery procedures and continuity plans;
- Maintaining system inventories, asset records, and operational documentation.
Security Partnership & Compliance Support
- Implementing and maintaining technical security controls, system hardening standards, and secure configurations in accordance with organizational policies;
- Partnering with the Security Analyst to remediate vulnerabilities, implement security recommendations, and maintain the security posture of organizational systems;
- Supporting security incident response, investigations, remediation activities, and audit requests as directed by the Security Analyst and IT leadership;
- Assisting with access reviews, security assessments, and compliance-related technology requirements;
- Ensuring systems remain current through patching, updates, and vendor-supported maintenance practices.
Continuous Improvement
- Identifying opportunities to improve system reliability, efficiency, scalability, automation, and user experience;
- Researching, evaluating, and recommending technology solutions that support organizational objectives and future growth;
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base materials;
- Participating in professional development and required organizational training;
- Working collaboratively with team members and performing other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience administering enterprise technology environments.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 services and cloud-based technologies;
- Experience supporting Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms;
- Experience administering identity and access management solutions;
- Experience managing endpoint devices and device management platforms;
- Experience supporting enterprise networking technologies, including wired, wireless, and internet-connected environments;
- Experience supporting backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions;
- Experience utilizing scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell;
- Experience implementing security configurations and collaborating with cybersecurity teams to maintain secure systems and services;
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across multiple technology platforms.

- Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;

- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between organizational locations;
- Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or related field; (preferred)
- Microsoft certifications related to Azure, Microsoft 365, Endpoint Management, Identity Management, or Cloud Administration; (preferred)
- Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related Microsoft cloud technologies; (preferred)
- Experience supporting SaaS and cloud-based business applications; (preferred)
- Experience working within a multi-site organization. (preferred).

Job specifications
- Reports to the director of information technology;
- Non-exempt, full-time, twelve-month work year;
- Eight-hour workday, four-day workweek;
- Hybrid work schedule with approval by management;
- Organization-wide winter break;
- Limited evening or weekend work may be required;
- Employment, responsibilities, compensation and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at the organization’s discretion.
Salary
- $52.88 - $70.31 per hour (candidates should anticipate receiving an offer within the first quartile of the salary range).
