Youth Program Coordinator Secondary (Middle & in Des Moines, Iowa at Homes Of Oakridge Inc

The Youth Development Program Coordinator – Secondary provides leadership for Oakridge Neighborhood's middle and high school youth-development programming.

The Coordinator is responsible for creating consistent, high-quality developmental experiences for adolescents built around strong relationships, belonging, youth voice, meaningful opportunities, increasing responsibility, and preparation for adulthood.

This position leads the planning and implementation of secondary programming, supervises and develops frontline youth-development staff, monitors program quality and participation, and ensures departmental youth-development standards are reflected in daily practice.

The Coordinator maintains a strong presence with young people and staff while also building connections across Oakridge's broader opportunities, including Teen Tech, Oak Futures, workforce and postsecondary initiatives, schools, and community partners.

The goal is not simply to provide activities or supervision. The Coordinator helps create a secondary program in which young people increasingly discover who they are, develop their interests and abilities, build meaningful relationships, take on greater responsibility, and connect to opportunities that prepare them for what comes next.
