About the role:

This is an excellent opportunity to join Horizon Services Ltd as a Traffic Controller, supporting the safe delivery of electricity infrastructure and maintenance works across the region.

Working Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety of our crews, contractors and the public by setting up and managing temporary traffic management systems in accordance with approved plans and industry requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up, monitoring and removing temporary traffic control sites and signage
  • Directing traffic and pedestrians safely around work sites using approved traffic control methods
  • Monitoring site conditions and traffic flow to maintain public and worker safety
  • Communicating effectively with field crews, supervisors and other stakeholders via radio and verbal instructions
  • Completing site checks and ensuring compliance with traffic management requirements
  • Participating in an after-hours call-out roster when required
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and customer service at all times

About you:

You are a reliable and safety-focused team player who enjoys working outdoors and contributing to successful project delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have experience working in traffic management, civil construction, or a similar field environment
  • Hold a current TM Qualification (TTM Worker, TMO, STMS)
  • Hold a current New Zealand driver's licence, with a Class 2 licence being an advantage
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety and safe work practices
  • Communicate clearly and work effectively with crews, contractors and members of the public
  • Be organised, dependable and able to follow procedures and work plans accurately
  • Show initiative and a willingness to learn and develop your skills
  • Be a team player who contributes positively to workplace culture and customer outcomes
  • Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
