Position Summary
-
Under the direction of the licensed staff member, the Nursing Student gives routine, non – licensed, technical bedside care as a member of the Nursing Team. Staff may receive, secure and transport medications as necessary.

High School Diploma - Preferred

Experience

2-3 Years Patient Care Technician or Nursing Student who has completed fundamentals of nursing - Required

License & Certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required

Core Job Functions
- Assists in procedures/ exams as directed. Obtains necessary supplies, equipment, and/ or personnel as needed. Communicates data by timely documentation and reporting of abnormal or patient status change to RN/LPN.
- Patients are identified per guidelines and patient care interventions are provided under the direction of the RN/LPN. Accurately obtains and documents patient assessments according to hospital/ department guidelines.
- Complies with regulatory guidelines for work area and professional practice. Communicates patient safety risks to appropriate providers. Performs interventions under the direction of the RN/LPN.
