About the Role:
As a Kubernetes Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications using Kubernetes across our cloud and on-premises environments. Your role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our Kubernetes clusters, enabling seamless application delivery and infrastructure automation. You will collaborate closely with development, security, and infrastructure teams to design and implement best practices for cluster operations and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. This position requires proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of Kubernetes environments to maintain high availability and performance. Ultimately, your work will empower the organization to leverage container orchestration technology to accelerate innovation and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification.
- Experience with service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd.
- Knowledge of security best practices for containerized environments.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash for automation.
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in production, staging, and development environments.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment and infrastructure changes.
- Monitor cluster health, performance, and security, responding promptly to incidents and outages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Kubernetes with existing infrastructure and development workflows.
- Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and automation scripts to streamline operations and knowledge sharing.
- Evaluate and implement tools and best practices for Kubernetes cluster management, security, and scalability.
- Perform capacity planning and resource optimization to ensure efficient cluster utilization.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical Kubernetes infrastructure.
