Oaknoll has an exciting new opening for a Registered Dietician! At Oaknoll, our Registered Dietician works with a wide range of our interdisciplinary team to ensure our team is meeting our residents' nutritional needs, as well as enabling caring, resident-lead meal planning to help CREATE home for our residents. Oaknoll is currently seeking a full-time Registered Dietician to join our team. An outstanding candidate will demonstrate an understanding of resident-centered care/service and have experience in geriatric nutrition and theraputic diets. The primary responsibilities of the Registered Dietician will include but are not limited to: Maintaining knowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to nutrition and dining in long-term care settings. Assessing complex nutritional needs and developing appropriate interventions. Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents upon admission, after any significant change in condition, and regularly as required, developing individualized nutrition plans based on residents' medical conditions, nutritional needs, preferences, goals, and physician orders. Monitor residents for changes in weight, diet, and other nutrition-related risks and recommend appropriate interventions. Participating in an interdisciplinary care planning team and communicating recommendations to residents, families, physicians, and all other members of the care planning team.

Requirements:
  • Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher in Nutrition or Dietetics.
  • Candidates hold a Registered Dietician credential through the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing.
  • Candidates must maintain all required continuing education and registration and license renewal requirements.
  • Previous experience working in long-term care or skilled nursing, with a knowledge of theraputic diets, geriatric nutrition, weight management, nutrition support, and safe food handling practices preferred.
