Finance Manager
*Reports to:* Director and Vice President of Administration & Operations
*Full-Time (Exempt) – 1 FTE
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Finance Manager oversees comprehensive financial and accounting services to meet regulatory and operational requirements. This role ensures accurate financial management, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and clinical service billing operations for SisterLove, Inc. (SLI) and its affiliate, SisterLove International South Africa (SLiSA). The position also provides strategic financial guidance and cross-functional leadership within the Administrative & Operations Team.
SCOPE
This position functions as the organization’s financial leader, ensuring fiscal accountability, audit readiness, donor reporting, and cash flow stability. In addition to nonprofit finance expertise, the Finance Manager supports the financial infrastructure necessary for the implementation and sustainability of clinical services, including revenue cycle management related to Medicaid, insurance billing, and 340B pharmacy operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Financial Management
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and dashboards.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust annual organizational and programmatic budgets.
- Maintain strict cash controls and cash flow forecasts (monthly, quarterly, annual, and multi-year).
- Supervise all general ledger functions including bank reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and deferred revenue tracking.
- Ensure proper use and documentation of grant and restricted funds across all programs, including government and private funders.
- Oversee financial tracking and reporting of clinical services (340B, insurance reimbursements, co-pays, etc.).
- Serve as the liaison to external bookkeepers, auditors, banks, funders, and legal counsel.
Grant, Donor, and Contract Management
- Coordinate grant financial reporting, billing cycles, and expenditure tracking across all awards.
- Manage invoicing and revenue reconciliation for cost-reimbursement and deliverables-based contracts.
- Track LOIs, multi-year awards, and conditional revenue within accounting systems.
- Provide budget justifications and spend projections to Development and Executive teams.
Clinical Services Financial Oversight
- Develop and maintain billing systems and compliance protocols for all clinical programs, including 340B and Medicaid/insurance billing.
- Support vendor selection and implementation of clinical financial tools (e.g., EHR/PMS integration, 340B platforms).
- Establish internal controls for co-pay collection, insurance billing workflows, and 340B replenishment tracking.
- Coordinate financial compliance with clinical partners and pharmacy stakeholders.
Human Resources & Payroll Administration
- Oversee biweekly payroll processing and related reconciliations.
- Monitor compliance with employee tax filings, 1099s, W-2s, and IRS Form 990.
- Administer benefit programs in partnership with HR, including vendor invoicing and employee contributions.
- Ensure correct financial onboarding and documentation for employees and contractors.
Audit & Compliance
- Lead all audit preparations, ensuring audit schedules and documentation are complete and accurate.
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions for 990s, 1099s, and federal/state/local compliance requirements.
- Support board finance committee meetings and prepare board-facing financial materials.
- Maintain and regularly update the organization’s fiscal policies and internal controls.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (required)
- Master’s degree or CPA preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in financial leadership roles; 7 years preferred
- Minimum of 3 years in nonprofit finance, including funder compliance and audit preparation
- Experience with clinical billing systems, insurance reimbursements, or 340B program finance strongly preferred
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrated knowledge of nonprofit GAAP and fund accounting
- Strong skills in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and financial analysis/reporting
- Familiarity with 340B, EHR systems (e.g., AdvancedMD), and insurance billing protocols
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to translate financial concepts to non-finance staff
- Proven leadership in budget development, compliance management, and organizational sustainability
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This is a full-time position based in Atlanta, Georgia
- Hybrid structure (minimum 80% in-office)
- Salary: $65,000–$70,000 with medical, dental, life, and 401(k) benefits
