Pay Range: $17.39 - $20.98 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Assigns work, coordinates activities of and works with cleaning staff. Aids in on the job training of environmental service employees.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Approximately one year experience as an environmental services aide in a hospital

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-Time. Days

Essential Functions:

  • Leadership skills to motivate staff in the absence of the manager/supervisor
  • Ability to use computer applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to read, write and speak English in order to effectively communicate
  • Verbal ability necessary to discuss assignments with environmental services aides, supervisor and manager
  • To train workers and to demonstrate cleaning techniques and equipment
  • Ability to understand and implement environmental services procedures
  • Dust, damp mop, spot clean and disinfect fixtures, furnishings in both patient and non-patient areas
  • Vacuum and spot clean mats and carpets, as assigned
  • Empty, clean and re-line waste baskets. Transport regular and contaminated waste to the utility room
  • Wash and disinfect bed/crib at discharge and prepare bed for new occupant.
  • Follow isolation cleaning procedures when cleaning isolation rooms to prevent the spread of pathogens
  • Clean and disinfect daily bathroom fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, walls (as far as can be reached) and replenish bathroom supplies if necessary
  • Maintains tools and equipment in good condition, is responsible for economical use of supplies
  • Enhances professional growth and development by attending inservices, required meetings and other educational programs
