About the role
We are looking for a Policy Specialist to join the Trust & Safety Policy team. You will help shape and refine our global content and community policies to keep the platform safe, compliant, and healthy across global markets.
In this role, you will tackle evolving content-risk issues, translate policy principles into actionable moderation and governance standards, and work closely with cross-functional partners across Legal, Product, Engineering, and Enforcement teams. The role calls for strong analytical skills, cross-cultural understanding, and the ability to analyze issues, recommend policy options and implement them in a fast-changing global environment.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and refine global content and community policies (Community Guidelines, ad policies, creator policies, etc.) to safeguard platform safety and a healthy ecosystem.
- Translate policy principles into clear, actionable moderation standards and operational guidelines that enable the moderation team to execute efficiently.
- Partner with Enforcement, Legal, Product, and Engineering to ensure consistent understanding and smooth rollout of policies.
- Identify and assess platform risks, monitor policy effectiveness and industry trends, and continuously iterate on policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above; Law, Public Policy, International Relations, Communications, or Sociology preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, content policy, platform governance, or related fields; overseas or cross-border experience preferred.
- Fluent English as a working language.
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills; understanding of regional differences in user behavior and culture.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-time-zone collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Content policy experience at a global internet platform (e.g., YouTube, Meta, TikTok, Twitter/X).
- Familiarity with international platform governance and data-privacy regulations (GDPR, DSA, COPPA, etc.).
- Experience handling cross-border content risks or major global events.
- Experience with development automated policy enforcement systems and AI-enabled T&S operations.
The pay range for this role is:
250,000 - 400,000 USD per year(New York, NY)
