This is a senior software engineering opportunity focused on maintaining, modernizing, and enhancing critical Oracle-based applications in a fully remote environment.
You will help evolve enterprise systems with an emphasis on reliability, security, interoperability, privacy, and long-term maintainability.

- Develop, maintain, enhance, and modernize Oracle-based enterprise applications, ensuring strong performance, security, privacy, interoperability, and reusability.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with operational and mission objectives.
- Drive high standards of software development and application maintenance across the technology lifecycle.
- Apply Java, Oracle, WebLogic, SQL, and PL/SQL expertise to develop and troubleshoot enterprise applications.
- Support modernization initiatives involving Java and Java-based application frameworks, including upgrades from Java 8 to Java 21 and modernization of legacy technologies.
- Contribute to application framework migrations, such as TopLink to EclipseLink and Struts 1 to Struts 2, while minimizing disruption to existing systems.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation using PowerShell, Shell scripting, and related technologies.
- Help ensure application interfaces and integrations meet functional, technical, security, and interoperability requirements.
- Partner with internal and client-facing teams to identify technical challenges, implement improvements, and maintain reliable application operations.
- Promote reusable development practices, maintainable architecture, and continuous improvement across software engineering activities.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, application development, or a closely related field.
- Technical training, relevant certifications, or a degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or another related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java software development and enterprise application development.
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle technologies, including Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Experience working with WebLogic and Java-based enterprise application environments.
- Practical experience with PowerShell, Shell scripting, automation, and application support activities.
- Demonstrated experience upgrading Java versions and modernizing Java-based frameworks, ideally including Java 8 to Java 21.
- Familiarity with technologies and migrations such as TopLink to EclipseLink and Struts 1 to Struts 2.
- Strong understanding of software maintenance, modernization, interoperability, security, privacy, and enterprise application lifecycle management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while managing priorities and delivering against deadlines.
- U.S. citizenship is not required; no security clearance is required, although a BI Full 6C (T4) public trust requirement applies.
- Salary: $136,000–$184,000 estimated range, with actual compensation based on experience, geographic location, and applicable contractual requirements.
