YOUR ROLE

Generator and Lifting Equipment Maintenance Technicians handle the daily operation and maintenance of this equipment and of the other equipment in our shop. The main responsibility of this position is to provide exceptional service by keeping equipment reliable and properly maintained.

Service technicians must have in-depth knowledge of all tools and must manage the tool inventory effectively, maintaining and repairing tools as needed. The position also involves forecasting and ordering repair parts and using a computer to process transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance on gensets and other shop tools;
• Forecast and maintain an adequate inventory of repair parts;
• Use information from manuals, suppliers, etc. to help diagnose problems and restore equipment;
• Clean, inspect and prepare gensets for use;
• Process repairs and work orders, create contracts, take deposits, convert contracts into invoices when equipment is returned, etc.;
• Ensure equipment is properly displayed, signed and maintained;
• Troubleshoot and maintain all equipment;
• Show working knowledge of and/or hands-on experience with all of the department's products;
• Maintain a high level of knowledge of all tools, including how to maintain, repair, order parts for and use them correctly;
• Analyze information to spot potential problems, identify the causes of equipment issues (spare parts, customer misuse, etc.) and propose solutions;
• Provide exceptional customer service;
• Meet the safety expectations for this role;
• Perform any other related duties or special projects assigned by management.
