Job Description

Compensation: $180,000 – $235,000 (commensurate with experience, qualifications, and billing rates)

Bonus Eligibility: Quarterly performance bonuses

We are currently seeking an Associate Attorney to focus on both foundational estate planning and advanced estate and tax planning matters for the families we serve. This role offers meaningful client interaction and the opportunity to develop deep technical expertise while working alongside experienced practitioners.

What You'll Do

Handle advanced estate and income tax planning matters for high‑net‑worth clientsDraft highly customized foundational and advanced estate planning documentsMeet with clients and provide guidance on the design and structure of revocable living trusts and irrevocable gifting trustsResearch estate planning, tax, and related legal issuesEvaluate, update, and coordinate template documents, correspondence, and internal proceduresWork closely with the Firm’s dedicated marketing team, which will actively support you in developing and growing your practiceMeet a reasonable annual billable‑hour expectation of 1,600 hours


What You’ll Bring

Required

J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the California Bar in good standingMinimum of three years of experience practicing estate planningStrong drafting skills with exceptional attention to detailSolid knowledge of estate and gift tax principles

Preferred

LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning, or a background in tax lawBroad understanding of corporate matters affecting closely held businessesAbility to interact comfortably and professionally with clients and firm leadership; strong interpersonal and communication skillsFlexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to client needsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a teamDemonstrated commitment to professionalism and openness to supporting a range of project types as firm needs evolve
