Senior Systems Engineer

This role offers the opportunity to support critical defense and aerospace programs through advanced systems engineering expertise.
The position focuses on helping government stakeholders manage complex weapon system acquisition and sustainment initiatives.
You will contribute to lifecycle planning, technical evaluations, engineering analyses, and program decision-making activities.
Working alongside cross-functional teams, you will help assess solutions, improve system performance, and support mission readiness.
The role combines technical depth, analytical problem-solving, and collaboration with engineering and program leadership teams.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Systems Engineer will provide engineering expertise to support acquisition, modernization, and sustainment activities for complex defense systems. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, technical documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate with government and industry stakeholders.

  • Support acquisition and sustainment strategies, plans, and lifecycle activities for advanced weapon systems.
  • Assist government teams with milestone preparation, technical reviews, and program execution activities.
  • Evaluate engineering recommendations from prime contractors and subcontractors, including change proposals, technical notices, and operational support documentation.
  • Prepare and coordinate engineering analysis reports, acquisition planning documents, technical evaluations, and review materials.
  • Analyze system requirements, designs, integrations, testing results, and deficiencies to recommend effective solutions.
  • Support engineering studies, certification activities, airworthiness documentation, and technical assessments.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program management reviews, and certification working groups.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve system reliability, performance, and operational effectiveness.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong systems engineering experience, a background in defense programs, and the ability to manage complex technical challenges in a highly collaborative environment.

  • Active and maintained Secret-level federal or Department of Defense security clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience supporting complex systems or technology programs.
  • Experience with systems engineering processes, technical evaluations, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong ability to analyze requirements, designs, integration challenges, and operational issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across government, technical, and program teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting aircraft development, production, modernization, or defense acquisition programs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certifications or equivalent engineering certifications is a plus.
