Who We Want:
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated Principal, FP&A, to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller and working closely with the CFO, this role will lead planning, forecasting, and financial analysis to generate insights and support business decisions. This role will partner with Accounting, Operations, Marketing, R&D, and Sales to manage reporting, analyze COGS, evaluate profitability, and support new product innovation. This position is ideal for a hands-on finance professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Work On:
· Working closely with CFO and Controller, lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in partnership with department heads to support projections with business objectives.
· Consolidate cross-functional forecasts with Sales, Marketing, Operations, HR, and other teams to align financial plans with strategy.
· Conduct flux analysis, trend reporting, scenario modeling, and performance monitoring to identify improvements opportunities.
Periodic review of product costs with Accounting and Operations to ensure more realistic COGS and gross margin forecasting.
· Regular collaboration with the Controller, Program Management, Marketing and Sales teams in ensuring alignment of revenue forecasts to market trends and sales opportunities. For greater efficiency and accuracy.
· Working closely with the Sr. Accounting Manager in monthly analysis of COGS to identify key variances affecting gross margin contribution.
· Create dashboards and reports that make financial data clear for non-finance stakeholders.
· Improve forecasting, reporting, and analytics processes fo greater efficiency and accuracy.
· Be a team player by providing support to the Finance Team when needed, especially during audits and closings.
· Perform ad hoc projects for CFO and Controller.
What You Bring:
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or a related field required. Advanced certifications (MBA) preferred but not required
Experience & Skills:
· 6 plus years of FP&A experience, including forecasting, reporting, and budgeting
· Experience in the Medical Devices industry preferred but not required
· Outstanding at Excel and good at PowerPoint
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills, and interact with senior executives
· Experience with ERP/financial reporting systems (NetSuite preferred)
Proficiency in financial modeling, variance analysis, and scenario planning
· High ethical standards, integrity, and attention to detail
· A proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
· Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Fremont, California is $150,000 to $175,000. Our salary ranges are calculated by role and level. Your position within that range will be determined by your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, and training/certifications. In addition to those factors, we also examine internal equity as well as considering the current market rate, and title may be assessed one level lower or higher accordingly.
