ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you energized by turning complex financial data into clear, actionable insight that shapes how legal teams work? As a Senior Legal Project Management Analyst, you'll analyze legal project management activities across a diverse portfolio of clients and matters partnering closely with relationship partners, matter leads, and senior project managers to stay a step ahead of their needs. You'll lead the charge on matter and portfolio financial analysis, translating numbers into strategic recommendations that drive smarter decisions. Beyond that, you'll be the go-to expert for reporting: designing sharp, insightful analyses and setting the standard for data quality and analytical rigor across the team. If you love solving problems with data and want your work to directly influence how top legal teams operate, this role is built for you.

  • Own reporting and workflow management for key clients, producing and maintaining bespoke reports and coordinating the cadence and delivery of recurring and ad hoc deliverables
  • Partner with Senior Legal Project Managers to drive day-to-day execution, independently owning discrete client and matter workstreams from end to end
  • Assist in reviewing current firm legal processes and drafting proposals to partners on greater efficiencies in legal service delivery
  • Serve as owner and subject matter expert of the firm's budget tracking platform
  • Analyze historical matter data to build reusable budget templates and maintain a database of matter analyses for future use
  • Build and periodically update custom budget-versus-actual reports, and provide partners with reminders of key deadlines such as monthly accruals or forecast updates
  • Draft and maintain client-specific playbooks and standard operating procedures
  • Clean up, organize, and catalog scope documents and matter analogs so information can be efficiently reused across future matters
  • Set up reporting on new matters, field ad hoc reporting requests from partners, and keep LPM dashboards updated with the most current information
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Legal Project Managers on the status of matter budgets

ABOUT YOU

  • 4-6 years of law firm experience, including prior legal project management, pricing, or matter financial analysis experience; litigation experience preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling) and strong proficiency with Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint and legal financial or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Aderant, 3E, Cosine, Clocktimizer) preferred; project management certification or training a plus
  • High client service ethic with a proven record of delivering exemplary satisfaction to both external and internal client constituencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, including delivering difficult messages and challenging assumptions
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas succinctly and clearly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in budgeting and financial analysis, paired with the ability to produce accurate, highly detailed work product
  • Reliable, dependable, and flexible team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and responds quickly and positively to shifting demands
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and maintain confidentiality on sensitive Firm and business matters
