Director of Product, Core Business

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Product, Core Business based in Canada.

This is a senior product leadership opportunity focused on shaping the future of a core enterprise B2B SaaS platform used by hundreds of thousands of frontline workers worldwide. You will own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for the core business while leading an established team of Product Managers. Working closely with Engineering, Design, Sales, and Customer Success, you will translate company strategy into measurable customer and business outcomes. The role combines strategic leadership with a strong focus on operational excellence, customer value, and scalable product practices. You will also champion an AI-first approach, embedding intelligent capabilities into the product and transforming how product teams work. This is an opportunity to influence a critical platform at significant scale while helping build a high-performing, autonomous product

Accountabilities
  • Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for the core product platform, ensuring investments align with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Translate broader company strategy into clear product priorities that deliver measurable customer value, adoption, retention, expansion, and revenue growth.
  • Balance customer requirements, market opportunities, technical considerations, and organizational priorities to make effective product decisions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers, fostering strong product thinking, accountability, autonomy, and high-quality execution.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design leadership to deliver strategic priorities and continuously improve product planning, development, and execution practices.
  • Align cross-functional teams around shared objectives, remove obstacles, and create clarity and momentum across product initiatives.
  • Drive AI-first product innovation by identifying meaningful opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into the core platform and customer experience.
  • Encourage AI-native approaches to product discovery, development, decision-making, and team workflows.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, frontline operations, market dynamics, and emerging industry trends.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to ensure product priorities support customer satisfaction, retention, expansion, and long-term growth.
  • Represent the core product vision with customers, prospects, internal stakeholders, and external audiences.
  • Establish clear measures of product success and ensure the organization consistently delivers outcomes rather than simply shipping features.
  • Maintain a clear distinction between core product ownership and areas led by other functions, including strategic ventures, engineering management, design leadership, product-led growth, and corporate partnerships.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience leading Product for an Enterprise B2B SaaS product, which is a non-negotiable requirement for the role.
  • Significant experience managing and developing Product Managers within a complex, scaling product organization.
  • Strong track record of owning product strategy, vision, roadmaps, prioritization, and execution for enterprise software products.
  • Experience translating company-level strategy into product investments and measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise customer needs, complex workflows, and the requirements of large-scale B2B SaaS environments.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Design, Sales, Customer Success, and other senior cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong product judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to balance customer needs, commercial opportunities, and technical constraints.
  • Experience building high-performing teams and creating cultures centered on ownership, accountability, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, resolve organizational obstacles, and create alignment across multiple teams.
  • Experience incorporating AI capabilities into product strategy or helping teams adopt AI-first approaches to product development and operations.
  • Strong customer orientation, with the ability to understand user needs and translate them into impactful product priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to represent product strategy with executives, customers, prospects, and external audiences.
  • Data-informed approach to product decision-making, with a focus on measurable impact, customer satisfaction, adoption, and business growth.
  • Ability to operate strategically while maintaining sufficient engagement with execution details to ensure priorities translate into results.

Benefits:

  • Annual Canadian salary range of $230,000–$290,000 CAD.
  • Compensation designed to grow with experience, expertise, and career progression within the role.
  • Potential 5–10% location-based compensation multipliers in higher-cost-of-living markets, depending on location.
  • Eligibility for meaningful stock options in a fast-growing, venture-backed company.
  • Fully remote, remote-first work environment with flexibility to work from a location where you are comfortable and productive.
  • Flexible time-off policy designed to support rest, vacations, and personal needs.
  • Monthly coffee-shop stipend to support flexible workspaces and a change of environment.
  • Fully paid one-month sabbatical after five years with the organization.
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Annual company off-sites in a variety of international and North American locations.
  • One paid day off each quarter for volunteering with a nonprofit of your choice.
  • Unlimited access to Udemy Business and support for continuous professional learning.
  • Collaborative, inclusive culture focused on meaningful work, innovation, ownership, and real-world impact.
  • Opportunity to work with a globally distributed team and contribute to the evolution of an AI-first platform for frontline operations.
