POSITION SUMMARY: The Hybrid Server & Bartender at one of Oxford’s luxury or boutique-style hotels is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service through both food service and expert-level beverage preparation. This role combines the responsibilities of a Server and Bartender to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience in restaurant, lounge, and banquet settings. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in mixology, fine wines, and dining service etiquette, and consistently upholds the Oxford Collection’s Four-Star service standards, demonstrating professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail in every interaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times. Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.

Food and Beverage Service (65%):

  • Provide exceptional service by anticipating and responding to guests’ needs, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience in both restaurant and banquet settings in a manner that strives to meet and exceed Forbes Four-Star standards
  • Greet guests, offer expert- level menu recommendations, and answer inquiries about food, beverages, daily specials, and dietary accommodations
  • Prepare and serve premium cocktails, wine, and beverages using standardized recipes with precision and consistency.
  • Provide exceptional food and beverage service in restaurant, lounge, and banquet settings, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards.
  • Offer expert-level recommendations for food, cocktails, wine pairings, and spirits based on guest preferences.
  • Take and input orders into the POS system, ensuring special requests, allergies, and dietary needs are communicated effectively.
  • Monitor beverage presentation, portion control, and garnishing standards in line with Oxford’s upscale expectations.
  • Maintain stock, prepare garnishes, and store perishables daily to ensure quality.
  • Assist with food running, serving, and bussing tables as needed.
  • Set up, support, and break down for banquet and private events.
  • Follow all federal, state, local, food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies.

Guest Relations (20%):

  • Warmly welcome guests, ensuring requests are handled promptly, professionally, and efficiently
  • Handle guest complaints, requests, and concerns with professionalism and discretion, using the Oxford Collection guest recovery, and service gestures consistent with Forbes service standards
  • Check identification for all all guests to ensure legal drinking age and observe signs of inebriation to ensure responsible alcohol service.
  • Handle guest concerns and recovery using Oxford Collection service standards and gestures.
  • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests.

Other (10%):

  • Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services
  • Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
  • Obtain sales leads for the sales department
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
  • Other Hotel related duties as assigned

PREFFERED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1+ years Previous food & beverage experience preferred
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and consistent attendance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
  • Must be able to list 30 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
  • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
